WINCHESTER SUPER HANDICAP

Winchester Super Handicap is a ball powder and the same propellant used in Winchester’s Super Handicap ammunition. This slow-burning, high energy propellant gives the shooter great handicap or long range sporting clays loads at up to 1250 FPS with a 1-1/8 ounce shot charge. Great velocity with excellent patterns!

Available in 1 lb. and 8 lb. containers.

Definitely use a scale. You need to be sure the measure is dropping what it is supposed to drop. The measure will work, you just need to check it a few times.

WINCHESTER SUPER HANDICAP

WSH is great powder, but its primary use is exactly what the name says. It is not going to work well for very light low recoil loads. Powder is very scarce right now and we are all using what we can get. For the kind of loads you want you need to look for WAALite or Alliant ExtraLite. You might get by with Titewad or E3 (these are both pretty rare.)

If you want to use the powder and wads you have, you can load up almost an exact duplicate of a WW Super handicap trap load. Around 20.5-20.9 grains of WSH, your CB1118 wads, and a W209 primer in an AA hull (red or gray) with 1 1/8 ounce of 7 1/2 will make a fine load. It will smack a clay from way back. Your shoulder will know right off that it is NOT a low noise/ low recoil round. However, handicap trap shooters shoot them all the time, four boxes in an hour or less. This is also a popular sporting clays load.

For your Winchester AAHS and Super Speed (also Universals) use data for Winchester AAHS hulls. While the internal construction of both hulls is the same, the AAHS is slightly shorter than the Super Speed/Universal. Often a load that would fit well in the Universal is too tight for the AAHS, but any load for the AAHS is usually a comfortable fit in the Universal type hull.
