Alliant Green Dot Shotshell Powder was actually redesigned by the company to ensure it burns cleaner and delivers a more precise burn rate for less recoil but also tight and uniform patterns. This is an excellent choice for target shooting, as well as field hunting.
In addition, this powder is commonly used for target loads of 20 and 28 gauge and is ranked as the best long-range clay powder currently on the market. To guarantee consistency and accuracy, the powder goes through strict manufacturing processes and quality control checks on a regular basis.
Going out on a limb here, but I’m thinking that $170/8 lb. keg is the MSRP. The real question is what is the price to the retailer. How much room does the retailer have to discount? If the street price of this stuff really turns out to be $170 keg and if they can really sell it for that price (which I doubt) then look for price increases in the rest of the powder market. It’s like airfare: when one airline increases the fare on a route, all the other carriers immediately match that fare (it works the other way, too).
